Our Tire Repair Services for Truck & Fleets in Fontana, CA
What Causes Uneven Tread Wear
Uneven tread wear can be caused by a wide variety of things, but the most common cause is definitely misalignment. Take your camber angle as an example. If your camber is off by even a single degree, one side of your tire will wear out faster than the other. This decreases the lifespan of your tire and costs you a lot of money in the long run. The same goes for improper toe angles. Toe angle refers to the angle your wheels are pointed in comparison to your truck. For perspective, they should both be pointing straight rather than in different directions. A misalignment here can cause uneven tread wear but is usually found on one wheel more than another.
Tire Punctures
Did you know that your tire may not go flat the moment it gets punctured? It may actually hold air for a significant period of time before going flat. As such, it’s important to inspect your tires before every trip. If you see something protruding from your tire, you should book an appointment for service even if it still holds air. The tire will still likely be losing air slowly, and you also run the risk of that debris being torn from the tire and accelerating the leak. Both of which can cause a breakdown.
